#Varanasi #Uttar Pradesh: The Kaneri village in Narendra Modi's constituency Varanasi on Thursday witnessed a unique wedding where the dowry was not money or a huge car but, a set of seven fruit trees.

Kaneri village is located 15 km away from the city and the natives who had gathered at the house of Munka Devi to see the special dowry brought by a just married couple were left amused on seeing seven trees of fruits.

According to a report in TOI, the bride Saroja Patel of Benipur village in Arziline block, also planted one of the mango saplings in front of her new home in Kaneri village.

She married Omkar Patel, son of Munka Devi and Jagdharlal Patel, in Benipur on Wednesday.

As per the report, Munka Devi was stated as saying that the family never thought of dowry and is happy to welcome the bride.

On the other hand, groom's father Jagdharlal said that they had demanded five saplings from the bride's father but, received seven saplings instead.  He also said that except the mango sapling that was planted in front of their house by the bride, all the saplings would be donated to Modi's adopted Jayapur village.
